In the dawning they'll wake up groggy
and rub the fog in their eyes.
They'll look around before they find the blinds.
But oh, no no, they will see the light.
They'll look to us when their gun backfires
to give them what no one else can.
And then with sunny smiles we'll welcome them
only then will they see the light.
Oh how bright.
See the light.
They see us now, standing easy,
speaking words that make them queasy.
But still they say they can't say what's right
and this is how I know they will see the light.
