Were is truth, I don't know
well he must've been gone
a long time ago.
What do we do when he comes back?....
Let's just not talk about that.
I saw truth eatin'
breakfast one day.
He popped his head
then he went away.
I don't know what
my friends eat 'cause
no on saw him but me.
I went down
the corner grocery
to get some onions
soy milk and cheese.
Wouldn't you know it
in the produce isle
Truth standing with
a sinister smile.
Well I shook and arm and
I pointed him out
to the organic hippies
that were mulling about
but to my surprise
now I need a hug
Truth was swept right under the rug.
(Chorus)
I saw Truth on a
bumper sticker
then a guy named Hope
appeared for a flicker.
Just when I thought
some peace I found
well it all came
crumbling down.
The billboard read,
tall and large,
that I can secure
my homeland with
the people in charge.
But what Truth told me
of history, well it reads
a lot differently.
My head was spinning
I nearly lost my mind
when I turned on the tube
to see what I could find.
Cable news, even NPR
seems poor old Truth's
been barred.
(Chorus)
