White Man From Africa

(The Lovers)

White man from Africa
do do do do do do do do do.
I'm a white man from Africa
do do do do do do do do do.

I know who I am
you don't have to tell me.
It's in there somewhere
deep down in my soul.
I'm a white man from Africa
do do do do do do do do do.
And I can pull it out any minute.
But I can't get rid of it.
'Cause I'm a white man from
Africa, and why would I want to?

I reflect how you treat
and how you leave out
the pages in history
that don't fit your design.
Are we all stones for stepping
in your sky-bound pursuit?
Would you taint the very
soil which first bore you fruit?
Or would you leave it behind
thinking you got something more for honor ain't intelligence,
it don't open doors.
But you haven't gone yet
you still rest on your bases and without them
you'd fall to the floor.

White Man from Africa
look back on yourself!
White Man from Africa
I can see you can't
do much else.

And oh the beauty
of the mother-land!
Wash away my sorrows.
Oh the sanctity of the southern son.
You know he's the one.
Oh the magic
of the mother-land
in ever grain of sand
we fill our cup
of water up
and then dance the age away... together.

White man from Africa
undoubtfully deep down
in my heart.
White man from Africa
I'm doubtfull that we'll
ever part.
I'm a white man from Africa
and why would I want to.
I've the whole world
to think of.

We can all fit or is that just it
some people's legs stretch extra wide.
And we're burning,
yearning, yearning
for her water to
quench our inside.
And then oh, when we reach
that imminent peak
you know that
we'd stay there forever.
Yes time will move mountains
yea, we all got a chance
just some of us
know it for sure.
